Wayne C. Embler age 79 of Bronson, Michigan skated out of this world late Thursday evening January 26, 2017 at his home.
He was born August 17, 1937 in Sturgis, Michigan son of the late Joseph D. and Alta L. (Summey) Embler.
Wayne resided in Bronson since 1957 coming from Sturgis where he was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1955.
On September 15, 1956 he married Barbara Lane at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis by the Rev. Herbert M. Heidenreich.
Wayne owned and operated with his wife and son Wayne's Body Shop in Colon for 38 years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Colon. Wayne was very active in Boy Scouting over the years, serving as Scout Master of Troop 406 in Colon. While serving as Scout Master in 1973 he and Barbara took 13 boy scouts to the National Jamboree in Idaho.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling and was a talented woodworker. Wayne had interests and hobbies, but what he truly cherished was time spent with his family especially his grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his wife: Barbara; one daughter: Starla Embler Furney of Mason; one son: Wayne (Patricia) Embler of Bronson; Son-in-law: Clyde C. Furney of Climax; six grandchildren: Kyle Embler, Kristen (Mike) Kokuba, Cale Furney, Cody (Alexis) Furney, Travis Embler and Sierra Furney; one sister: Susan (Kenneth) Lindsay of Houston, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Joseph A. Embler; three sisters: Barbara Hackman, Betty Rinker and Doris Green.
In accordance with Wayne's wishes cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
