Randall L. "Randy" Andrews age 83 of Sturgis, Michigan went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday morning March 27, 2017 at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
He was born July 17, 1935 in Tarpon Springs, Florida son of the late Doyle and Gladys (McGeehee) Andrews.
Randall attended many different schools in his younger years while living in Florida and Michigan and graduated from Bronson High School with the class of 1951. He furthered his education at Emmaus Bible School from 1952-1953 until he was drafted to serve our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He served in Scarwaf, with the Army and Air Force Engineers in England and received his Honorable Discharge May 1, 1961. Randall was proud to have served.
In May of 1953, he married Winifred Wolcott at the Sturgis Bible Chapel.
He worked in construction in his early years and retired from GM/American Axle in 2008.
Randall was a very generous man to anyone in need. He shared his earthly possessions and property with kids of all ages. He had a true love of animals, especially dogs and supported Pet Haven in Sturgis for many years.
He was a longtime member of the Sturgis Bible Chapel and attended the Radiant Life Church (Sturgis Wesleyan Church) in recent years.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of nearly 64 years, Winifred "Winnie", son Michael (Donna) Andrews of Sturgis, daughter Martha (Mark) VanDosen of Sturgis, six grandchildren: Elise (Justin) Kirtland, Emily Andrews and fiancée Kevin Lied, Ryan (Tiffany) VanDosen, Nina Sawyer, William Sawyer and Chad VanDosen, three great grandchildren: Ivy and Marlowe Kirtland and Canaan VanDosen, sister: Patricia Owen, brother: Charles (Margolyn) Andrews and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter and his son-in-law: Michelle and Herb Sawyer.
The family will receive friends on Friday March 31st from 6:00-8:00PM at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284. Funeral services celebrating the life of Randall Andrews will be held on Saturday April 1st at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Tobey Cemetery in Burr Oak Township where full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
