Larry Lynn Noragon age 68 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Wednesday morning January 25, 2017 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He was born September 20, 1948 in Coldwater, Michigan son of the late Leon and Anna (Ewers) Noragon.
Larry had been residing at the Home for Veterans since 2012. From 1987 until his move to Grand Rapids he lived in Sturgis. His early life was spent in Coldwater where he was a graduate of Coldwater High School with the class of 1966.
On November 18, 1989 he married Cheryl Porter at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis.
In October of 2003 he retired from the U.S. Postal Service following 32 years of dedicated service.
Larry was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War earning the rank of Corporal. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Star, Combat Action Ribbon and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
Larry was a member of the Veterans for Justice Group at the Home for Veterans, life member of Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW, Disabled American Veterans Jack Johnston Chapter #88. Larry was a longtime league bowler and a member of the 700 Club at the Sturgis Bowl. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling, especially he and Cheryl's annual trips to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Larry is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 27 years: Cheryl; one daughter: Amy Noragon of Illinois; two sons: Aaron Noragon of Illinois and Ryan Noragon of Michigan; two grandchildren: Landon Noragon and Bailey Noragon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Linda Gibson and Grandmother: Alta Ewers.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans Chapel, 3000 Monroe N.E. in Grand Rapids. Chaplin Bob Dennis will officiate. Full Military honors will be conferred. Burial will follow the services at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York NY 10006, St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Veterans fund of one's choice.
