Helen Siebenthal Munson age 83 of Klinger Lake, White Pigeon, Michigan passed away in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
She leaves behind her grieving husband, Bernard "Budd" Munson, sons: Gregory (Cindy) Siebenthal of Coronado, California, Bryan (Karen) Siebenthal of, Salem, Connecticut, Kevin (Pamela)Siebenthal of San Diego, California, Brent (Liz) Siebenthal of South Bend, Indiana, Barrett Siebenthal of South Bend, Indiana and Bradley (Debbie) Siebenthal of Plant City, Florida; daughters-in-law, Jacqueline Siebenthal of Escondido, California and Kristy Munson of Coral Springs, Florida, 23 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; sister: Joanna Koontz of Pennsylvania and Budd's children, Mark Munson of Sturgis and Mary Munson of Three Rivers and many cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Russell Siebenthal, July 21, 1992, eldest son, Jeffrey Siebenthal, grandson: Bryan Siebenthal; stepson: Michael Munson and eleven siblings.
Helen was born July 27, 1933 in Sullivan, Indiana the daughter of the late Frank and Sophia (Witt) Jaskowiak.
After graduating with the class of 1951 from Knox High School in Knox, Indiana, Helen married Russell Siebenthal on May 10, 1952 in Hamlet, Indiana and together they raised seven sons in a home filled with faith and love.
Helen & Russell owned and operated Porter's Drug Store in Sturgis from 1969 until Russell's retirement in 1991.
Helen married Budd Munson on June 15, 1998. Together Helen and Budd loved opening their Klinger Lake home to family and friends to celebrate birthdays, holidays and other special occasions. She cherished 45 years of Thanksgiving holidays with the Reiter family in Joliet, Illinois with her best friend of 61 years, Audrey Reiter.
Helen was a devoted mom and wife who cherished sharing her love of God and many life lessons with all who knew her. She was proud of her time spent working at Porter's Drug Store and loved singing in Sweet Adeline's and at church. She enjoyed volunteering at any and all church activities at Holy Angels Catholic Church and could often be found selling tickets at Sturgis High School sporting events. She was an excellent Bridge player and in her younger years enjoyed playing golf. Helen and Budd loved traveling with good friends Jack and Joan Grim and Tom and Donna Blesh, and visiting family around the country. Helen traveled four times to Chile to visit and enjoy time with Raul Rencoret and his family, Raul was an exchange student the family invited into their home in 1972. She was an avid Notre Dame Sports fan! Helen's love, guidance and compassion set an example for the many lives she touched. She was adored by her grandchildren and treasured by her nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-7:30 P.M. Friday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651—3284 where the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be prayed at 7:30 P.M. Friday. The Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Helen Siebenthal-Munson will begin at 11:00 A.M., Saturday at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Father Evelio Ramirez will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the Mass at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
