Gordon Dale Krontz age 86 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Elkhart, Indiana.
He was born January 20, 1930 in Burr Oak Township, Michigan son of the late Aaron Wallace and Mary Grace (Malchi) Krontz.
Gordon resided in the Burr Oak and Sturgis area his entire life.
On May 8, 1976 he married Roberta "Bobbie" Roberts at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.
Gordon retired from the Sturgis Carton Company in Sturgis following many years of dedicated employment. Before joining the Sturgis Carton he had worked at Garrison Associates in Burr Oak and following his retirement he had worked for Aqua Clear and Timberly Tree Farm both in Sturgis.
Gordon was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947-1949. He was a member of the St. Joseph County Conservation and Sportsman Club and enjoyed most all outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.
He was survived by his loving wife: Bobbie; four daughters: Marian (Mike) Wells of Colon, Dena (Dan) Trowbridge of Kendallville, Indiana, Tena (Mike) Hill of Plymouth, Indiana and Diane Robinson of Bristol, Indiana; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother: Aaron Wallace (Nancy) Krontz of Sturgis and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons: Rodney Krontz, Olen Krontz and Michael Kinder and six brothers: Harold, Gerald, Donald, Robert, Richard and Leslie Krontz and two sisters: Alma Bush and Ellen McKercher.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Sturgis Church of Christ, 901 N. Lakeview Ave. in Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Gordon Krontz will begin at 1:00 P.M. Friday at the church. The Rev. George Cleverley will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. Full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
