Annette Eleanor (Moore) Magness age 90 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Thursday evening June 15, 2017 at her home.
She was born July 27, 1926 in Waterbury, Connecticut eldest daughter of John and Mary (Mulhern) Moore.
Annette attended school in Waterbury and graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School, and then St. Vincent School of Nursing in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She worked in the Baltimore Health District where she met her husband, Robert Franklin Magness, and married in November of 1954.
Annette and Robert had four children in Baltimore before moving to Michigan City, Indiana and then Sturgis, Michigan. She was a longtime heath care worker in both Indiana and Michigan.
Annette was a proud Irish Catholic, loved family gatherings, playing the piano, reading murder mysteries, and had a fascination for human health and biology. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Annette will be remembered for the timeless devotion to her family, and her great Irish wit and humor. She enjoyed returning to the beaches in Connecticut as well as attending local political events and book signing functions with her husband Robert.
She is survived by her children: Mark Magness and Matthew Magness both of Elkhart, Indiana, Judith (Jack) Tracy of Brentwood, Tennessee and Victoria Magness of Sturgis; grandchildren: Nicole Negrete and Jacqueline Benton and great grandchildren: Jolie and Leona Benton and sister: Corrine E (Jack) O'Connor of Wolcott, Connecticut.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Robert Franklin Magness, December 9, 2013; brothers: Terrance and John Moore and sister: Mary Elizabeth Faszholz.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284. The Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be prayed beginning at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a memorial service celebrating the life of Annette E. Magness. The Deacon Larry Kasuboski of Holy Angels Catholic Church will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
